Piccini: “Valencia is our home and the Valencian people are our people”
The former Valencia CF footballer has helped those affected by the DANA storm with over 3,000 kg of food
Miguel Tendillo analyses the first days of José Bordalás as the new coach of Valencia CF. The club ambassador and legend spoke to VCF Media and expressed his excitement at a new arrival bringing what he sees as several much-needed qualities to the role.
Excitement
It’s exciting for all Valencianistas, and for all of us who have been at the club this past year. We’ve got some new ideas. The new coach is what we needed, in terms of his character.
A team with character
His teams have always been defined by their character. I think that he looks for his players to be ‘soldiers.’ This could be a good period for Valencia CF, and I think that the players will not be able to get too comfortable, as he will always demand that little bit extra from them.
Valencia CF DNA
I think that both his and Valencia CF’s DNA involves that extra effort from the players. The team are always going to be alert, and his policy -or religion- is that anybody who doesn’t work hard, doesn’t play.
For a team that have had some doubts for a while, he is going to strengthen them. He is a coach who is going to demand respect from the get-go, and the team are going to respect him. That’s hugely important.
Fans

The fans have always got behind the team. I think that, if they see a team giving their all on the pitch, there will definitely be that harmony there.
